Revenue

Total income earned from sales before any costs are deducted. Also called turnover or gross income.

Revenue is the total amount earned from selling goods or services during a period, before subtracting any costs. It's the top line of the profit and loss statement.

Revenue is not profit: a business can have strong revenue and still lose money if expenses exceed it. Tracking revenue by client or product shows where growth is really coming from.
