Accounts Payable
Money your business owes suppliers for bills received but not yet paid. A liability on the balance sheet.
Accounts payable (AP) is the mirror of receivables: bills you've received from vendors but haven't paid yet. It's recorded as a current liability.
Managing AP well means paying on time (protecting supplier relationships and avoiding late fees) without paying earlier than necessary, which preserves cash.
